Dedication Ceremony for Sean Mullsteff
On Wednesday, March 23, students, staff, family, and friends came to be a part of a ceremony dedicated to the late Sean Mullsteff. Sean was a member of the class of 2003 and was an all around great individual. His life was tragically ended when his car collided with a tree last April 4. The memorial to Sean was to retire his jersey and present his parents with a picture of Sean doing what he loved to do, play volleyball. He was an excellent player and was a major role model for all on the team. He was a great team player and always had a positive attitude. While other teams feared him, his family and friends loved him.

The ceremony was attended by many of Sean’s former teammates as well as his family and friends. Mr. Landefeld, Sean’s coach, spoke about Sean’s sportsmanship and his positive outlook on life. His mother and father also spoke to thank everyone for coming out and supporting their son. Principal Robert Domergue also spoke recalling what a great student Sean was and how he was well loved.

A display was revealed that will hang on the wall for future DHS students to get a glimpse of this player. Sean’s number, 14, was also retired and his jersey and MVP plaque were preserved so that he will never be forgotten in the place where he impacted so many lives. DHS is proud to preserve the memory of one of its greatest athletes and finest students on the walls of the building where it will inspire future players and students alike.
